Plus Size Pirate Costume

Anyone looking for a costume this Halloween might consider a pirate outfit. This also including any plus size pirate amongst you. Pirate costumes come in many sizes from small through to 3X-large in some cases, so everyone can take part in the fun. Brush up on your pirate speak, like “yeaaarrr”, “kipper me capstans”, “splice the mainbrace” and all the rest and you should be all set for the party. Here are a few plus size costumes for you to look at.

The first one that caught my eye was the rustic pirate costume for women. It is a really good looking costume which has a nice balance between looking feminine enough for any lady to be pleased as punch to be wearing it but masculine enough to pass herself off as a cabin boy or ordinary crewman on the ship. No doubt Anne Bonny had to dress in male clothing when she was a pirate so that the other crew mates didn’t suspect anything. Take away the corset and beef up the puffy white shirt (no shoulder less option please) in this costume and at a stretch you could see her wearing something like this. The costume comes with pirate hat and bandanna, low cut shirt and corset, pants and gold trimmed boots.

For the men out there, how about the Captain Cut Throat costume. This is a really comprehensive costume that has many elements to it. It is sure to make a great impression at a party. People will know that you are a pirate as if you had run a Jolly Roger up the main mast.

The costume consists of a pirate or captain’s hat and authentic looking eye patch. For the torso, the elegant gold vest and ruffle sleeved shirt goes underneath a navy blue captain’s jacket. Both the vest and jacket are finished with gold buttons and silver trim around the cuffs and button holes. Above all the jacket is similar to the outfits you would see in period films such as Master and Commander and other Royal Navy epic films. Except this captain is a pirate not a good guy. Maybe he used to be a privateer for the British government who then turned on him and had him outlawed. Now he plies his trade up and down the South American coast looking for galleons stocked with gold bullion and other booty.
