A brief background on Blackbeard

This infamous seafarer was not always feared by those sailing the sea.  Believed to be Edward Teach, he started out serving on a British armed privateer and was instructed to attack enemy vessels.  But he soon rebelled against his government and decided to take matters into his own hands as he took the wheel of a stolen ship into them as well and soon became captain of his very own boat.

This was the beginning of the reign of fear.  From 1717 to 1718, Blackbeard and his crew went on a pilfering rampage and frightened sailors of the seas, especially for merchants and the like.  These two years of terror finally came to an end when Maynard found out about Blackbeard’s hideout and attacked and eventually won the battle.  After the fall of Blackbeard, the head of this infamous seadog was hoisted on Maynard’s ship as a scare tactic to ward off other evil pirates.

Now, you can be the notorious Blackbeard with this Plus Size Pirate Costume.   Go to the dark side of the seas by putting on a black long sleeve button down polo shirt that showcase ruffles of the exact same hue.  Then wear the gray full length pirate coat over it.  This coat features black lapels with buttons running down the sides.  It also has black pockets that are line in silver.  The same silver trim can be found on the very end of the sleeves.

Tie the whole look together with the thick black belt that features a big bulky square shaped silver buckle.  Then, top it al off with what every pirate simply cannot do without, a pirate hat.  It is no surprise that this one is color black as well.  But, for a little more detail, the hat showcases a black and silver shiny skull and cross bone logo on the side.

But if you really want to go all out and truly strike fear in the eyes, then you should grab yourself a matching sword and slip on a pair of black boots as well.
